Hybrid Motion, Stock, Live Action Video

A hybrid of live action, animated graphics and stock video I created for my former employer.

I was involved with planning (many iterations with the CMO, several marketing managers, genomic science experts and my colleagues in the marketing department). I shot original lab footage, hired vendors to shoot footage, I created the motion graphics, sourced the stock video, hired the voiceover and edited everything together in several different versions.

Cancer Guardian Advertisment

This was the first video I worked on after being hired at a Genomics company as a graphic and multimedia designer. I was later promoted to Creative Director.

The company was a funded startup and they didn’t have a budget for high end video footage so I suggested using stock video to quickly create a professional video they could use for media buying, business development, social media and funding. For this video we wrote a script and storyboarded the video based on footage I found. Then I edited it, hired voiceover and some motion design.

CEO Message

This was a video message from our CEO for the company’s 25th Anniversary. I filmed him, set up lighting an audio, and worked with our Director of Marketing to finalize the messaging through about 5 or 6 takes. We also recorded a secondary message for another event at the same time. After that I edited the footage, added b-roll and created motion graphics. We made several versions at different lengths This video was used internally and on social media. 

Infographic Conference Booth Video

This is an animated video I produced for our conference booth video presentations.

Corporate Annual Review Video

This was a corporate annual review video where I compiled a year’s worth of photos, studies, data and other footage, created motion graphics to highlight specific achievements and created motion clips of all of the footage  by category for three different companies.

Corporate Culture Video

I made a lot of these videos for culture events at the company. I would take photos of the event, some video clips and I would add motion graphics and music. We used these for annual reviews, HR recruiting and social media.

Animated Science Explainer

This was an animated video I created with simple vector graphics and a script our science team wrote.

Video Podcast

A video podcast I produced for a local theater critics association. I produced 12 video episodes over one year. All video footage was remotely recorded using Riverside.fm. Easily the best platform for remote video. Forget recording Zoom calls. Riverside records the footage directly on the guest’s computer or phone and uploads it in realtime. They have many other features now (including podcast hosting) but I used it to record video and get separated footage for my own editing needs. If they use the back camera on their phone, you can get 4k footage remotely. Modern phones have great mics now, so the audio is really good too. 

Documentary Video Science

A video I produced along with our team to showcase how our products help patients by working through our partners. This video was produced with our senior marketing manager and a film crew in Atlanta, GA.
